Trina Roberts is the director of the UI Museum of Natural History and Old Capitol Museum. She earned her Ph.D. in evolutionary biology as a resident student at the Field Museum of Natural History, then worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Alaska Museum and the National Evolutionary Synthesis Center (NESCent). She came to the University of Iowa in 2011 as Associate Director of the Museum of Natural History, expecting to use her expertise in museum scientific collections, then became director of the Pentacrest Museums in 2015. She works with museum staff on all aspects of the two museums’ operations, including exhibit planning, collections management, and education programs, as well as doing all the general administration for the department. She also teaches about natural history collections as an adjunct in the UI Museum Studies program.
