Dr. Stephanie Horton is an Associate Professor of English as William Rainey Harper College in Palatine, Illinois. Although she teaches a variety of English courses at Harper, including Composition, Literature and First Year Seminar, she holds a Ph.D. from the University of Iowa in Medieval Literature. Her scholarly interests focus on analyzing the implications of depictions of physical metamorphosis in late medieval romance. Dr. Horton is also deeply committed to promoting diversity in higher education. To this end she serves on the Executive Board of Harper College’s DREAM (Diverse Relationships Engaged in Affirming Multiculturalism) Organization, mentors first-year African American female students through the ELITE Program and serves on the hiring committee for Harper’s Multicultural Faculty Fellows Program. Outside of her engagement at the college, Dr. Horton is a loving wife, and mother to four beautiful children.
