Melissa earned her M.S and Ph.D. in Anatomy at The Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine. She has been teaching research methods and basic science (Anatomy, Neuroscience, Physiology, Embryology) to Doctor of Physical Therapy Students since 2011. During her thesis and dissertation, she conducted bench work research with rats, rabbits and mice to explore corneal wound healing and macrophage impairments in Crohn’s Disease. Her current research agenda includes projects on anatomical education in allied health fields and assisting in clinical research projects with colleagues and collaborators.
